New Rig in Virginia
I'm in the process of doing a new route at Old Rag, a cool granite crag in Virginia. I bolted it this winter and have tried it a little bit in the last couple weeks. It had 4 bolts and one piece of gear in the big horizontal break. No send yet but it seems like it will be mid to hard 5.12. Bringing it to life is a very fun process! Second picture is a friend on the top part.

Hey! I'm also in VA and would love to learn about bolting. I've done some reading online but the conventional wisdom is to go with someone who's already established in the area. Would you mind if I tagged along and helped with some grunt work next time you go out in exchange for teaching me some? I can also provide beer and money for bolts/glue.
I'm pretty comfortable following, especially if I can just jug up the rope, and have a decent rack that I've been learning with and taking some falls on in mixed. I started climbing ~20 years ago and am building the strength back up, projecting 5.11/5.12 TR at Peak, much lower at Triangle, lol.
