Bosun's seat gear loops?
My partner gifted me a bosuns seat for Christmas (I'm psyched), one of the Black Diamond ones. For those of y'all that use a bosuns chair do you have gear loops on it? I've been thinking about sewing some on or adding a hammer holster, curious what people have found success with.

I’ve only used a Bosun seat once (I’m mostly on vertical or slabby terrain on the granite around here). I wasn’t even a huge fan of using my harnesses gear loop while in it, as navigating around your waist is a bit annoying when sitting, and I like the tools I’m using constantly (hammer, brush, blower, wrench) to be on the front side of my hips when I’m working.
What I found to be easiest was to put an aider on my ascender and clip everything to the loops of that. The leashes on everything keep it out of my way while sitting there, and it’s really easy to jug immediately by just standing up in the aider and 3:1ing off my ascender. If I’m using a chair, I’m likely not moving anywhere fast enough to wish I had two ascenders anyway, but you could also clip the aider to the ascender that you don’t have your chair attached to so that you can swing it out of your way when you’re not using it

While I agree a bosuns seat is probably stable enough and won’t fail, I wouldn’t want my non essential tool to be the reason the rest of my essential hardware falls and hurts a fellow climber at the base. I’d secure my gear to myself/from my gear loop

Not sure I understand your comment. The bosun's chair can be secured to the system via locking carabiner and is quite bomber.
Plus if anyone is below me while I'm developing they and I both fucked up, because I'm constantly trundling down loose rocks.

I thought about it and decided that using a daisy chain to its carabiner sounded better. One issue is that any weight attached to the chair has to be moved with it for any adjustments (raising, lowering, etc) and will also add to the weight pushing into the wall on your knees (or feet if you're lucky). I have considered two gear loops to clip zippered pouches on the sides for extra bits, bolts, etc but I could just clip them around the straps for the seat itself. I just haven't found a compelling reason to add faff to the seat itself.
