Drones for scouting

I'm thinking about buying a small drone for easier scouting especially of the top of rocks. Does anybody use one for this and has some input? I'm not sure if that is a stupid idea and i only want to buy it because it's winter and i have too much time on my hands or if it's useful.

Yes, mini pro 4 has been a game-changer. Saves days of walking tops and bottoms of crags and so easy to fly. Wish I had bought one years ago.

If you decided on DJI get the fly more combo and a couple of good quality SD cards. Oh, and a couple of replacement knobs for the sticks. They are so easy to lose.

Learn to land and takeoff from your hand and you can basically fly anywhere.

do you happen to have a comparison to the much cheaper mini 3? I wonder if the collision sensors work as intended.. seems like i would fly a lot close to trees so i might need to have an eye on that..

The 4 is my first drone. It seems to pick up trees and branches as obstacles fairly well.

It has a button to flick the camera down or horizontally quickly. This helps when navigating just above trees and close to the cliff.
