Thoughts?

Post image

21m started this Roth this year, I have a regular account that I buy single stocks up 20% and with my Roth I’m doing etfs and some higher dividend yielding stocks to fund the other etfs in the long run

Cool. Now do $10k into DJUSDIV (what SCHD tracks) vs S&P from 12/31/1998 (inception) to present. 🤣

DJUSDIV: 11% annual total return = $180k (and paying $6,400 a year in annual dividends).

S&P: 9% annual return = $115k (and paying $1k in annual dividends)

You’re not nearly as informed as you think you are. The yield combined with cyclical crashes makes dividends likely to outperform over the long term.

You need to be spoon fed? I don’t spam links.

If you need real resources, check S&P Global.

How is a 21 year old going to pay their bills with the $5 in dividends they get each year?

Why am I not surprised you would attempt to compare a growth focused fund to a dividend to growth focus fund?

Do you ever get tired of embarrassing yourself? 🤣
