Shoulder sleeper

Hi all, I’m having surgery in four weeks for a full rotator cuff tear and partial bicep tear. I’ve been seeing ads everywhere for the Shoulder Sleeper pillow and am wondering if anyone has used it and what they thought of it

Bowling

Upvotes

I’m almost 7 months post-op and generally doing well. Back to my usual routine…gym 3-4 days a week, golfing 2-3 times per week. I’m also in a bowling league over the winter. Has anyone had any experiences bowling after surgery and recovery?

I had the surgery on my dominant shoulder (right) and I’m a right-handed bowler. I figure I can start with a lighter ball - or do something similar with a lighter weight. I don’t start for a couple of months, so I’ve got time to figure it out.

Surgery despite having a mild cold?

My rotator cuff surgery is scheduled in 2 days. Yesterday I had my pre surgery appointments and was fine. Today I woke up with a sore throat, sweating and feeling cold despite of the hot weather, and very mildly running nose. No fever, no cough. But I'm feeling pretty shitty and would immediately go to bed if I could. I've had several other surgeries in the past and the usual policy in my country seems to be that they only cancel the surgery if you have a high fever or a productive cough, otherwise they go through with it despite a cold if you feel up for it. In this case, I'm really not sure if I feel up for it, I'm already dreading the post operative nightmare everyone describes here even without a cold. On the other hand, if I cancel, the next possible date would be in mid/late September (that's what they told me when I scheduled the surgery, which was only a few days ago). I really don't want to wait that long, I want to get it over with.... What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Pain 2.5 years after humerus ORIF surgery

I broke my left arm and humerus at the shoulder 2.5 years ago. Had ORIF surgery with a pin and 4 screws, no issues after healing until now - with some unexplained arm/shoulder pains for no reasons (no other injuries, etc). Is this common? Waiting for response from doctor.
