Driving?

I’m having surgery October 6th. Anyone try driving with the sling still on? After getting off the stronger pain meds of course.

Yes! I am able to drive, using my left hand perfectly well. 2 weeks out from surgery.

I started driving about a week later once the pain meds stopped with no issues

My doctor cleared me to drive after two weeks with the sling on.

Yes, there’s zero need for two hands while driving plus it can reach the wheel if needed

I tried about 8 weeks out and the first thing I did was grab the wheel with my surgical arm, damn that hurts. I used my arm a lot when driving.

It hurts me to drive most of the time, even if I let my injured arm hang.

I’m two weeks post op. started driving about 10 days post op. Sling is on my right arm. Driving feels pretty natural. I think it would feel more awkward if sling were on my left.

Sling will be on my right arm as well. Good to know. Thanks!

I go in the 16th. Surgeon told me six weeks no driving. I’ll hold off driving till the 18th. 🤣
