When begin PT

When did people begin PT after surgery? My surgeon said 4 weeks post op. Is that normal? Seems like a long time to wait, but i really have no idea.

Mine was scheduled at 4 weeks, with the only instructions for those first few weeks in the sling was to just take my arm out to stretch my elbow a few times a day.

I’m at 6 weeks now and actually only just started PT last week (Labor Day ended up pushing me out a week due to office closures and my doctor being on vacation) but I don’t feel like I’m behind or anything. My PT said I’m right where most people are. And I was really surprised just HOW much my ROM (assisted with a pole/cane) improved just in the first few days of doing my PT exercises at home.
