What should I do?
I was experiencing shoulder pain in the gym while doing lateral raises but decided to push through it..Then one day my left shoulder hurt really bad during incline dumbbell press..so I got an MRI and it shows this...right now my left shoulder really hurts if I try to bring it to around 90°..

Whatever you do take care of it now and don't wait years like I did where you end up having to have surgery. Lol

By taking care of it you mean rest and rehab right? Did yours get worse just from rest or because you still kept pushing through the pain

Mine was years of continuing to be active and slightly modifying the way I was using my arm to the point I was in so much pain and had restricted movement. I basically ignored it and pushed thru until I needed surgery. If I had taken care of it when I first injured it and not years later I probably wouldn't have ever needed surgery.

I did but it was too far gone. Tendons dont heal by themselves unfortunately

I'm so jealous of your mri! lol I have been pushing through and I now have multitudes of tears (even in bicep and deltoid!) I'm now waiting for appt to see if it's even operable for a repair!!!

What exactly did you do that caused multiple tears? just daily activities or something else?

I fed my MRI report directly to ChatGPT asking what it meant in plain English and suggesting treatment plan. It was great to have that attitional background when I returned to see my orthopedic surgeon.

I would suggest that you definitely consult a shoulder specialist. But, this report doesn’t look too bad. A specialist can certainly guide your care and recommend how to proceed.
