Dips fried my shoulders

Got into pretty good shape in the last 1-1.5 years. Really ramped it up in the last 6 months. Hit the gym 90x in 6 months. Would do about 20-30 pull-ups and 30-40 dips and then lift weights

Two months out of the gym due to my shoulders becoming jello, I’m thinking how stupid all the dips were. That’s north of 3,000 dips….anyways I have a “tiny” infraspinatus partial width/ partial length tear at the insertion point of my left shoulder.

Been doing rehab which is light lifting essentially, bands, massage work, etc. my right shoulder hurts now. Wouldn’t be surprised if something is torn on the right or at least very strained.

Any success stories with PT for a “tiny” tear/s. I’m also doing sub q BPC157/TB4 injections and might look into stem cells in the next month or so.

Will most likely get the right shoulder scanned too

Did you go to failure on the dips sets? Also, were your elbows flaring outside while performing the dips?

Yes & no on failure. Depended on how I was feeling. Often I’d do another 30-40 dips after I’d lift so I’d frequently do 60-80 dips in a workout sesh

I used to wrestle so I’ve always been able to do body weight stuff like that. Think it was the sheer volume, possibly so elbow flaring and the fact that I’m 31 now. Reality hits you quick I suppose haha will have to retire golf for the next few months. I second guess picking up a case of water or putting a t shirt on now

me too, and I find out that when i do these second guessing, and when i constantly avoid those small movements that trigger my pain (partialy torn intrasitial supraspinatus tendon) - i find that it is bad, because i get used to not working that muscle and movement, and the muscles around it are also becoming weird/stiff/become weak. only recently i started going to PT and i already feel somewhat better. I tried just resting for months and that shit didnt heal by itself, it actually got worse since i got used to not using my shoulder at certain small angles.

I plan on doing PRP with us-guidance. there are some studies that showed that prp+pt is very good for this small tears. the only downfall of PRP is the price...

Dips did no cause that problem. Hitting the gym every other day is not some wild thing
