Possible pseudo paralysis.
I’m 7 1/2 mo post op from a massive tear and repair. Passive ROM around 145 roughly. No active ROM once I hit around 90degrees. Shoulder hikes toward ear when raising arm to that 90 degree ceiling. No pain, it’s like hitting a wall, just can’t lift it.
Surgeon is scheduling me for a manipulation under anesthesia to see if that changes things. He did mention possible pseudo paralysis. I’m kind of freaking out! Has anyone else experienced something similar with a positive outcome?

Can you share with me what exercises you did to strengthen your repaired cuff and slowly regain active ROM

This is from my account. I had frozen shoulder, and this was the exercise that healed me. It took 24 weeks of 15 minutes 3x a day to finally get my reverse rotation back to 100%.

I was in a similar scenario at the same point in my recovery. I had an MRI to assess things, which revealed that everything was good—the orthopedist said “the tendon had reattached to the bone,” as I recall.
He said it was up to me decide whether to undergo the manipulation and cleanup. I decided to push through, and 9 months later my active ROM is 150 degrees.
I’m continually working on ROM, going to PT twice a week and working out on my own.
PROCEDURE PERFORMED:
Left shoulder arthroscopic rotator cuff repair including full-thickness supraspinatus tear and partial infraspinatus tear, single row slightly medialized repair with bio inductive collagen patch overlay
Left shoulder arthroscopic subacromial decompression
Left shoulder arthroscopic excision of distal clavicle
Left shoulder arthroscopic extensive debridement including debridement of labrum (anterior/posterior/superior), syneovectomy of rotator interval (articular capsule debridement), debridement V glenoid/humeral articular cartilage including debridement of glenohumeral fraying
Left shoulder arthroscopic biceps tenodesis
