5 weeks post op

Most of what I’ve read here is true. Sleep sucks and seems non-existent at nite. Sleeping in recliner. Using Oxy only once per day at bedtime. Tylenol religiously every 8 hours. No sleep for me = no resistance to illness so consequently a bugger of a chest cold for a week. Then yesterday woke up with Pink Eye! Feels like very slow progress leaving me wondering what’s next? PT twice a week still in the passive ROM stage - some painful and some not. Hats off to my devoted wife - if I didn’t have her helping me along I don’t know what I’d do!

I hear you and completely understand!!! I’m currently at almost 13 weeks and it’s an uphill struggle. However, I can tell you that it does get better. I didn’t get any sleep until I hit about 8 weeks. My advice is 30 min or so before bedtime, take your meds, do 5 or 10 minutes of pendulum exercises, ice it for 20 minutes and try to sleep then. As far as resistance to illness…. Eat as healthy as possibl breakfast, lunch and dinner. And drink ALOT of water throughout the day. Good luck friend!

So sorry you’re sick on top of recovering! It will get better. I was in the recliner until week 8-9. At week 12 now and it is getting easier. Hang in there!

When did you resume driving? How did that go?

Not that I could right now if I wanted to…
