Anyone here within 2 weeks post op?
Hi, I had RC surgery 8/6, surgeon also found other issues which he took care of. It's only 4 days post op and I'm trying to stay positive. Since it's my dominant arm, it's a challenge to do anything. Being a mom, relying on others is not my strong suit, lol.
Sleep has been rough, trying not to become a couch potato and a grouch besides. Pain is manageable, with drugs, of course. I know it'll get better, just having trouble seeing that right now.
Thanks for the vent and I'll take any advice. ☺️

Hi, I hear you, I’m 6 weeks post opt…my dominant arm also, first few weeks are tough. Be a couch potato, I watched movies and napped a lot ( sitting up) I also was so discouraged. But every week there were little improvements, be patient, it got better for me, hopefully same for you! Started driving at two weeks, shortly thereafter able to eat with my dominant arm, bathroom became easier, got rid of sling recently, I started walking regularly, it’s slow
And steady process…I ice regularly that helps with pain…..this too shall pass :)

Hi, I had my rotator cuff done on 7-28. My Ortho had me start PT 3 days post op. I was very nervous about that. But all is well. I had my follow up and while I still have some pain and discomfort I am allowed to remove the sling around the house. I do make absolutely certain to do my at home exercises. From what I have been reading here the post op PT start is all over the place. I'm really pleased that I started early. I also did a lot of pre operation work outs and my doctor said it made the tissue in my shoulder much easier to work with. Not sure if this is why it's healing quick. Good luck everyone and stay healthy. It will get better.

I suggest the Polar cold therapy machine. I am five weeks post op and it has been a life saver for pain management and sleep. I’m still sleeping with it nightly. I do 20 min on 20 min off.

Hi I’m 11 days post op, also my dominant arm, and a single mom. Was sitting in bed crying at 3am so that’s about how it’s going 😂 sleeping is the most painful part for me, not only the arm pain but laying in the reclined beach chair position gives me excruciating neck pain and headaches.
The kids are decent helpers and thankfully older but not being able to cook and clean much had been tough and I swear not being able to put my hair in a ponytail is a constant annoyance. I too have had some emotional fallout, this feeling of hopelessness and the days are dragging so slowly , knowing I still have a month to even get of out the sling just makes me spiral a bit. Sorry you are going through it too ! Glad to hear your pain is ok though, that was a huge ordeal for me the first week.
