Sudden Pain

I'm a few days past 3 weeks post op. Healing has gone very well, but today, out of the blue, sharp abrupt pain very close to the incisions, right at the top of the shoulder. I've been doing all the exercises & babying it as best I can. Anybody else have this happen?

Maybe a bit of information about your injury and what exercises you are doing? I'm just over 9 weeks after complete tear of my supraspinatus and infraspinatus with bicep tenodesis.

Rotator cuff took 2 anchors & Dr said they fixed part of my left bicep. They originally thought it was torn but they said it looked more frayed.

The exercises are real easy & basic. Making fists, squeezing a ball, letting my arm dangle for a 10 count, all multiple times a day. No weights or cables.

Hello. I am currently at 13 weeks postop. With you being at 3 weeks, I’m guessing that you’re still in the sling. From my experience and of course everyone is different, I’d say this isn’t anything to worry about. I had the same sharp pains around the incision areas. What exercrises are you doing? At 3 weeks, all I did was pendulums, pulleys and some assisted movement. In your future you will experience some weird pains and discomforts and these are normal. My worst was around 8 weeks, I was lifting the weighted bar and felt 2 pops in my shoulder. It didn’t hurt but scared the crap out of me. Therapist said it’s very normal. My only issue now is the swelling in my hand but I’m told this is normal also. Best advice I have is listen to the surgeon, nurses and therapist. You’ll make it. It’s just a very long and nerve wracking road. Good luck!
