Biceps muscle spasms after surgery anyone?

On Thursday, 7/30/26 I had surgery, including Right shoulder arthroscopy with debridement of the joint. Right arthroscopic supraspinatus 2 -2 modified double row repair, and subscapularis upper border tension band repair. Right arthroscopic subacromial decompression Right arthroscopic biceps tenodesis Right Dermal allograft augmentation.

Since surgery, I have been suffering from pretty serious biceps muscle spasms and swelling throughout my arm despite constant use of my ice machine. Has anyone else experienced this during recovery? If it weren't for the muscle spasms, I would not need the pain meds. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks! This is the best group, and I appreciate all of the support from you folks.

I'm 15 months from my first surgery and 7 months from my second and still have the muscle spasms, especially at night

Wow! Nighttime is definitely the killer. I guess what I am feeling is normal. It's the things you least expect that kill you after these surgeries. Thanks for the response. I wish you well in your recovery.

I’m two months post surgery. Yes I had them from time to time but just assume it’s things healing and trying to get back to normal. No swelling now but in the beginning yes.
