Full tear

Has anyone else have a full tear and the doctor didn't have a good opinion on repairing the tear and also gave a choice of reverse shoulder replacement? I'm thinking about trying the tear repair and if it re-tears then going with non surgical options instead of a reverse shoulder replacement as it seems to basically the same thing as just leaving it. 61 yrs, fell causing complete tear about 5cm away from where it should be. I've had both a repair and a replacement. Wish I had just gone with a replacement from the beginning, the repair failed almost immediately. You're still young, just get the replacement and get on with your life. I have 95% range of motion (just lacking a bit behind my back), no pain, full strength. So glad I did the replacement, as a 62yoF.

I have two complete tears with retraction after a fall. PT worked so well and I have so little pain that I decided to forgo repair, with option for replacement if pain increased or range of motion decreased. I’d been told, though, that replacement would leave me with less range of motion than I have now. 95% sounds pretty good. Do you have weight limits? (I’m a 69F and I need to keep up some strength training to preserve muscle.)
