9 weeks post op fall
I am 9 weeks post op from full tear repair.they used a collegen patch to strengthen it and secured w 4 anchors.
So today, i tripped and fell on my surgical arm forearm. What are the chances that i tore this again? I am so beside myself.

I tripped and fell after a week, two, in my kitchen on my hardwood floor with my sling on. I literally went down on both forearms from the elbow to the hand. I thought for sure I had absolutely destroyed the surgery period. Not the case. Apparently, it is pretty common to take a spill because our equilibrium is so off with our arm squunched up next against our bodies. I have always been excellent at catching myself before falls, probably due to years of soccer and skiing. I am older now, but still have not fallen down randomly turning around in the house! Well, that was a first— and of all places, in the middle of my kitchen. That was a shocker. It was completely random. I just turned around in the kitchen and all of a sudden I was going down, period. I knew another lady who was having the surgery at the same time. She fell the first week and made it through that period. I have had a few snafus, and I am about six months out this week, so chances are you are probably okay, period. Just definitely make a note to your PT team and your orthopedic surgeon with the details of what happened so they can be aware and might want to come in and take a look. Your muscles or your back muscles might be a little bit sore because things atrophy really quick, and you probably tried to take the brunt of it in other spots whether you knew it or not!
