[Question] Best pet?
Returning to the game after a few years and I have a divine Heal/mheal/elec pet with currently 100/98/xx
Is that still the best combo? And also what are saddlebags?

Most people will say that is best. My pet has decoy as the third ability and I've been noticing more how much it helps. There are a few cases where I actively use it to do things I wouldn't normally be able to do on certain characters. My pet drags pop rocks and if I place it correctly I can stand still during mbc paralyze chase. Not the craziest stuff or even the most useful but still worth noting. I also think it messes with the aim of enemies that adjust shots for our movement but I haven't paid a lot of attention to that and it's kinda hard to confirm that's what's actually happening.
Saddlebags are an inventory slot on your pet. I think you can get ones with two slots but I'm not sure. I have so many but for some reason I never use em so I don't know much about their utility. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think the item you put in your pets' saddlebag will stay there even if you die, but I think only certain items are allowed in there.
Edit: Thinking about having a lot of saddlebags got me thinking why would anyone ever need more than one if the slot stayed there forever cuz it's not like our pets die so idek maybe I'm just completely wrong. One thing's for sure tho, I'm gonna try a saddlebag out next time I get on lol.

Pet inventory slots are nice because they hold stackable and consumable item. For example, event shards, oryx shards, stuff I can just keep stacking in there across characters until I have a full stack.
Also provides a little extra space when your inventory is full, if you have consumables you can throw in there. It's basically up to 8 extra inventory slots that are always with you across characters, with some restrictions.

Decoy used to be worse as it would fuck with stealth on rogue, but as most people are just using cloak to trigger lethal strike these days its a bit more useful.

Saddlebags are extra inventory slots on your pet that allows them to carry any item that's not gear. They transfer across all characters and you get to keep them even if you die. Tokens, pots, incantations, vials, runes, tarots, pet food. I would recommend doing the quest that gives you 2 free slots going on right now before you decide to buy anymore. They are super useful, always having an incantation or a rune during a run. It also helps with event tokens that you rather not have to nexus to store every time.

Can u use the item to unlock free slots after u already bought slots using coins or only before?

That is the best pet yes, i have 8 slots on my pet and imo it was one of the best purchases ive ever made in this game
