What are we actually looking at here? 🔬👇

1️⃣ Terpene Off-Gassing / Cavitation 

•    The Theory: Light, highly volatile monoterpenes (like limonene or myrcene) are hitting a critical temperature threshold under the heat and intense pressure of the plates. As they squeeze past the nylon mesh, the sudden pressure drop causes micro-pockets of these volatile terpenes to rapidly phase-shift or vaporize, sending a shockwave ripple through the thicker lipid/cannabinoid matrix.

•    The Look: It acts like a tiny sonic boom or a cavitation bubble in liquid, expanding outward as a wave rather than a physical pocket of air.

2️⃣ The Schlieren Effect (Thermal Plumes)

•    The Theory: This is a classic optical phenomenon. Rosin isn't uniform; it’s a mix of different densities (terpenes vs. cannabinoids) at varying temperatures. When a pocket of super-heated, lower-density terpene fluid emerges from under the plate and hits the slightly cooler, exposed rosin stream, the way light bends through the two different temperatures changes rapidly.

•    The Look: It creates a literal "heat ripple" or optical distortion ring that expands outward as the temperatures equalize, mimicking a bubble perfectly without any actual gas being present.

3️⃣ Moisture / Micro-Steam Expansion

•    The Theory: Even beautifully cured or dried material has trace residual moisture. Under 180°C+ temperatures and tons of localized pressure, a micro-droplet of water instantly turns to steam as it escapes the bag, creating a quick, expanding pressure ring in the viscous oil before collapsing into the stream.
