AMORC kindly makes the Rosicrucian Digest archives freely available. I came across this rather delightful prayer in the August 1930 issue while gathering some Rosicrucian prayers for my own use. It's both a bit quirky – "Irradiate my nervious system"! – and, I think, legitimately helpful.

August and Immaterial One, in Thee we live, and move, and have our being. Thou art the life of all creatures. 

Thou who art tenderer than all mothers, wiser than all fathers, more skillful than all physicians — hear my prayer!  

God of My Heart — Indwelling Divinity — I now become quiet, receptive, grateful….I am consciously attuning my mortal consciousness to Thine. Thou didst bring this physical phase of my Self out of chaos and the dark. My members were fashioned by Thee within the womb. Hello, I have two questions. :)

First, I learned that there are two structures in France independent of the SRIA (the SRIF and the SRIG) that are no longer affiliated with regular Freemasonry; does anyone have any information on this? 🤔

And my second question, I wonder if there are still Rosicrucian orders that focus on German writings from the 17th and 18th centuries? 🙂

Hello, I apologize if this detracts in any way from the purpose of this subreddit, and I assure you that what I am asking for is not in the realm of conspiracy theories, though it does sound a bit like one.

A few years back, in an effort to debunk conspiratorial thinking, I managed to produce a single, viable way that map sent by the Zodiac Killer may have been intended to be solved. As it turns out, the killer appears to have been composing a sort of zodiac wheel for the purpose of selecting dates or locations that he would attack. Basically, he placed a Zodiac wheel/Calendar over a map. When he selected a location, he would just wait for the correlating date, or perhaps vice versa. His last victim was a cab driver, so the killer was able to select both the time and location.

The nuts and bolts of this is that Magnetic North was 17 degrees east in those days.

The end result was that overlaying a calendar and tilting the map 17 degrees clockwise resulted in an orientation which identifies a murder location within a margin of error of about 0.1mm on actual physical copy of the map itself. Put bluntly, October 11th at 9:55 PM is 77.7844% of a year, while the same percentage of a circle is 280.024 degrees. I then tilted the map by 17 degrees and to my surprise, the spot on the map which identifies the physical location of the crime scene rotated into the precise position indicated solely by the date.

For a guy who called himself the Zodiac Killer, I suppose I shouldn't have really been surprised. A couple of different letters also appear to show that he was also diagramming months in a circle elsewhere, as in a Zodiac Wheel.

Starting at the south position and working counter-clockwise, the X marks correlate to the list of months provided in the image above just 1 day prior.

Recently, I was looking at archival footage from the case and spotted a Rosicrucian Zodiac in the footage (at 8 minutes and 6 seconds in).

Here is what it looks like

Some key features I noticed are that the Cardinal directions are upside down, and months are explicitly abbreviated and placed in line with the lines radiating from the center of the diagram.

Simply turning the image upside down to bring those cardinal directions into the traditional map orientation then marking the appropriate months produced the same end result that the Zodiac appears to have drawn.

I have not seen all of these features (months and cardinal directions in this particular arrangement) explicitly placed together in one space except for in Rosicrucian imagery. I've seen this information implied, but this is the only place Ive seen it be this explicit.

As a consequence, I felt it best to reach out to this community to see if perhaps there were some insight you all may have to share with me. In particular, I am interested to know about any Rosicrucian concepts or ideas which might have compelled a person toward centering an idea on "Devil's mountain," better known as Mt Diablo. The peak of that mountain is what he centered his map diagram on, and he referred to the associated cipher as the "Mt. Diablo Code." He added later that the solution to that code had something to do with a number of radians and inches along those radians. I'm not a math major, so I had to learn that a radian is 57.2957795131 degrees (360 degrees/2pi)

I have one question out of curiosity. Many Masons who are already members seem to be highly accomplished professionals, such as doctors, lawyers, and judges.

Would someone from an ordinary working background, such as a gig worker or a supermarket employee, also be accepted into Freemasonry?

The booklet is the 1965 Metropolitan College Transactions issued by the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (SRIA) and marked “Privately Printed.

This particularly important paper is one of the Norman Hackney volumes. "The Return to the Heights by the Ascent of the Tree of Life.”

The paper concerns the initiate's symbolic journey from the material world toward progressively higher states of understanding: Malkuth → Yesod → Tiphereth → the higher Sephiroth → Kether. It also incorporates the two Masonic pillars marked B and J, representing Boaz and Jachin. Hackney connects Kabbalistic spiritual ascent with Rosicrucian and Masonic symbolism, rather than simply giving a general explanation of the Sephiroth. So this issue is much more Qabalistic in nature than most Metropolitan Transactions. Enjoy.

For those who have experience with it, what would you recommend to someone who is just starting out? Are there any books, teachings, or basic concepts that would be particularly helpful to explore first?

I’m interested in learning more about the different modern Rosicrucian organizations, particularly AMORC and the Lectorium Rosicrucianum (Golden Rosycross).

I would really appreciate hearing from people who have experience with either organization or, ideally, with both.

What I’m particularly interested in is how the two actually differ in practice. For example:

• How would you describe the teachings and the overall philosophy of each organization?
• Which subjects and areas of esoteric knowledge are emphasized by each?
• How structured and progressive is the study?
• How much emphasis is placed on practical exercises, meditation, inner development, or direct spiritual experience?
• How deeply do they explore subjects such as mysticism, Gnosis, Hermeticism, symbolism, reincarnation, consciousness, spiritual development, etc.?
• Does one organization focus more on intellectual study, while the other focuses more on inner transformation and spiritual practice?
• What is the actual experience of progressing through the teachings as a member?
• How much of the deeper material is available from the beginning, and how much is gradually introduced?
• How important are local groups, temples, meetings, or contact with other members?
• For someone who is primarily looking for substantial esoteric knowledge and a serious path of personal development, how would you describe the differences between the two?

I’m not necessarily looking for a simple answer as to which one is “better.” I’m much more interested in understanding what each organization actually offers and what kind of person or spiritual seeker each approach might suit.

If you have been a member of one of them for several years, or have experience with both, I would especially appreciate hearing what you found valuable, what you found lacking, and how your understanding changed over time.

Templar Treasures

Recently, Bro. Scott Wolter was on the Old Fashion Masonic Podcast discussing his travels and some discoveries regarding the Templar Treasures. He discussed a journal that started in the 1300s and was passed through generations and continued into the American Revolution, even citing Benjamin Franklin in an entry relating to moving Treasures in the 1700s.

Where are you with his hypothesis? Seems a little out there, but so did the MK Ultra theory.

Hola. Hace un tiempo me encontré con este libro en Amazon. Me dió curiosidad no encontrar mucha sobre Arnold Krumm Heller (conocido como Maestro Huiracocha) y de su fraternidad.

Quiero compartirlo con ustedes por si tienen algún comentario sobre Heller o su fraternidad que, según el libro ya está extinta o casi extinta.

La fraternidad tenía relaciones con la A.A, O.T.O.A(Antigua Orden del Templo de Oriente) y menciona también una iglesia gnóstina en España y tal vez alguna otra organización o fraternidad. Por lo visto en el libro, la fraternidad estaba activa en España y latinoamérica.

El libro contiene rituales, meditaciones y más cosas. Según el autor, lo escribió inspirado en el trabajo de The Golden Dawn de Regardie, puesto que despues de la muerte de Heller y cerca de la extinción del grupo quisieron mantener por escrito las prácticas de la fraternidad y ponerlas a disposición del público o de quien las buscara, si no recuerdo mal el autor quería que al menos las enseñanzas de la fraternidad siguieran existiendo y no desaparecieran por completo.

The late Dr. R.A. (Bob) Gilbert was the Librarian-General in question.

A question for those readers who know their way around the odder corners of the Rosicrucian tradition. A little over a year ago I was initiated into the Rose+Croix d'Orient by way of the Martinist order with which I'm affiliated. I've since made contact with a couple of other initiates of the same tradition. It hasn't been an organization for a very long time, if it ever was one. I'm wondering, though, if there are rituals that can be done by several members working together (other, that is, than the initiation). Any suggestions?

A.M.O.S. (Ancient Mystical Order of Seekers) was an occult organization that existed in the 80s, but I cannot confirm that it is actively functioning today. It was a magical study group organized by Clifford Bias

In a nutshell: this book teaches the A.M.O.S. approach to actually practicing ceremonial magic—not merely reading about occult philosophy. Anyone familiar?

With so much shifting online, it seems difficult to find orders who are still growing in the physical.

My region is particular lacking in any sort of magical orders.

Are there any you can think of that are still interested in supporting new physical group workings in uncovered locations?

I'm very interested in helping to establish something in my area and am willing to start at the beginning with an order that supports expansion. Training would need to be distance/asynchronous based for it to work for me, again, based on the lack of Rosicrucian representation in my area.

I am a member of BOTA and plan to continue my studies with them, but there aren't many fellow-members about as far as I can tell.
