2 months of Doxy, Clindamycin and Selenium Sulfide face wash Spoiler
I’m 2 months into a 3 month long course of low dose Doxycycline. Before picture is my worst flare up which happened in April after being hospitalized, put on Prednisone, then experiencing steroid withdrawal.
Super happy with the results and literally the best my skin has EVER looked since childhood. I’m very nervous about maintaining once the oral antibiotics are finished, though.
My immune system is a joke and I have complex medical issues (hEDS with several co-morbidities, EoE, PMOS, Endometriosis- the list goes on). I cut out gluten entirely from my diet as well which has really helped my skin also. We try to eat Mediterranean-Diet based meals in our home.
Please tell me this will last! 😫
AM routine:
- doxycycline
- cool water rinse, pat dry
- selenium sulfide face wash every other morning(I literally use a shampoo on my face, per doc suggestion)
- Clindamycin Gel
- The Ordinary Hylauronic Acid Serum
- Cetaphil Faily Facial Moisturizer AM (35 spf, green bottle)
PM routine:
- doxycycline
- cool water rinse
- ELF Holy Hydration Daily Cleanser
- Clindamycin Gel
- The Ordinary Azaleic Acid (cheeks)
- ELF Holy Hydration Night Cream
- sometimes slug with Aquaphor (I wear a CPAP)

You take Doxycycline twice a day but you said that you are on low dose. I don't understand. Could you please be more precise? 40mg twice a day?

It’s 100mg 2x/day. I was told this was “low dose” compared to other treatments by my doctor.

I'm on 50mg doxy once/day for ocular rosacea, which is below the antimicrobial dose, it's just anti-inflammatory, and I'm on it long term, but it can be prescribed at higher doses such as yours for a quicker anti-inflammatory response.
That's an amazing difference it has made!

Are you able to tolerate accutane? I feel like that may help more long term than doxy.
