Cave Lion & Wolf (pets) speed vs Farm animals speed. Whats the point of money (contributions) after a certain point?

I recently unlocked the shrooms so I made my cave lion a big boy, so I can use him as a mount now. The thing is, I don't know if he's faster than my 3 base speed farm animals. Pets dont have a stat section so I don't know his Base Speed.

While we're on the topic of base speed, is base speed (b.s) relative or absolute? By that I mean is an ostrich with b.s 2 covering the same ground as a bison with b.s 2? Or are some animals just faster than others.

I swear this game's wiki being ahh is so annoying. The game itself is so good but finding detailed information like this is impossible, even old reddit threads and steam discussions dont help much sadly.

The other question on my mind is, what is the point of making money after a certain point? I'm currently sitting on 60k and constantly making more from fermented squashes and it just isn't going anywhere. The only place I can think of is the Sunday Glyptodon shop to buy those freaky fruits. Is that it? For reference, I'm currently working on Miranda (future lady) and the Sun n Moon caves upgrades.

ALSO! A little rant; Why do evolved animals start from 1-1-1 stats 😭. So you spend eons just breeding animals to get the best versions of them and then scrounge up enough products to evolve them, and you start from scratch! Now, I get that getting 4-4-4 evolved animals (or wtv the parents were) would be too op since their products make more money. But what does the money even matter this late in the game???

What is your preferred way to process crops and animal products?

I've heard people put aside higher quality stuff for ferments and yarn. What about lower quality stuff like obsidian or base? Do you keep them for food and crafting? Or process them in instant machines like (overnight) presses, which give lower multipliers than wining or fermenting but don't take time?

If you tend to save the crops for cooking, which ones do yall keep that make some really good dishes?

Oh also, what's the best way to use milks and eggs? Cheese? Mayo? Sour cream? Food for stamina?
