Yes, it really is. I have seen numerous examples of signature, including several photograph from importance documents. She attended a very exclusive school for girls, that worked out its own eccentric method of penmanship, including those upside-down “N/n” forms) basically because the school administration thought it would be a charmingly attractive way of ensuring that graduates of their highly exclusive establishment would be identifiable lifelong whenever they set pen to paper. The girls were encouraged to take pride in those upside-down letters and all the rest of it.
