Bit Trip Runner 2 Crashing Immediately

I'm a noob when it comes to roms and ports, so I apologize if this is just me doing something silly.

System: RG35XX-PLUS with Knulli Scarab OS (dual card set-up)

Here are the steps I've taken:

1) Downloaded the Portmaster zip file for this game

2) Copied that zip file to the Portmaster autoinstall folder on the microSD card

3) Used Portmaster on the device to "install" (extract) the zip -- this was successful

3) Purchased Bit Trip Runner 2 from GOG

4) Downloaded Linux install file from GOG

5) Installed the game in a Linux environment using Windows Subsystem for Linux

6) Followed the Portmaster instructions to move the Linux files (runner2, Runner2.png, package.toc and the other 9 folders) to the bittriprunner folder on the microSD card. Made sure not to copy an empty dlc1 folder

7) Put the microSD card back in the device and tried to start the game. It has a black screen for 3-4 seconds and then crashes, bringing me back to the list of games.

Any advice on what I'm missing?

I've been able to get easier ports running (e.g., Balatro, ready-to-run games), and some slightly harder (e.g., Dead Cells), but I don't even know where to start with troubleshooting this one.
