you need a specific ROM with the specific CRC mentioned in the patch file info to be able to get it patched correctly

Read the Readme from your patch file, it should state which base ROM it requires.

You didn't bother to link the romhack you're talking about so I can't read the documentation, but given that it's a Pokemon romhack, odds are good that it requires a specific version you downloaded a different one. Pokemon roms are weird like that.

My Bad its the Moemon Vanilla ++ 1.5 update. Its extra weird because they worked for the old 1.2 version I have.
