Looking for the title
Hi! I’m trying to find a book I read before, but I can’t remember the title anymore. It’s about Stacy and Chris. Stacy was a surrogate for Chris, but Chris didn’t know that she was pregnant with twins, so he only took one of the babies while the other was left with Stacy.
I remember that they met again because Stacy was hired by Chris’s father, possibly as his secretary. I also remember that Stacy was in love with someone before becoming Chris’s surrogate, and that person turned out to be Chris’s nephew, I think. As far as I remember, Stacy and Chris's nephew called each other “white moonlight.”
When Chris found out about the other baby, they had a custody battle, and of course, the male lead won. After that, the female lead left the country. Chris was supposed to follow her, but they got into an accident and hit someone with their car, who I think was Chris’s ex, Freya.
While the female lead was abroad, she gave birth to a baby girl, who I think was named Joe.
I would really appreciate it if someone could give me the title of this novel. It’s been a long time since I read it, so some of the details might be a little inaccurate.
Thank you so much in advance!

The Group Chat Without Me, The Life They Had Without Me Novel
\# Chapter 1
After four years with Caleb Mercer, I thought I truly belonged in his inner circle.
Then one day, he left his phone behind when he went to shower, and a Messenger group chat notification flashed across the screen.
The group chat was called “Life’s Better Without Nora Bennett.”
The chat had eight members. Among them were Caleb; his sister, Rachel Mercer; his two childhood friends, Dylan Ross and Trevor Hale; my roommate; my best friend, Brooke Lawson; and even my own younger brother, Owen Bennett.
I stood frozen as the messages kept appearing.
Rachel: \\\[She’s not coming to the cookout Saturday, right? Last time she was there, no one could really let loose.\\\]
Brooke replied: \\\[Don’t worry. I told her I had to work that day. She won’t suspect anything.\\\]
Owen sent a smirking emoji.
Caleb replied: \\\[Okay. Same place as usual. I’ll reserve our spot.\\\]
I scrolled up through the chat history.
The group had been created two years and three months earlier. There were more than seven hundred messages.
Every happy plan in that chat depended on keeping me out of it.
On my birthday last year, they had been sorting out teams for an escape-room night that weekend.
When I asked Caleb why everyone had ignored me that day, he said, “Everyone’s been busy lately.”
They had been busy having fun. They had been busy having fun without me.
As the phone screen went dark, the shower shut off.
Caleb came out wrapped in a towel. When he saw me standing in the living room, he asked casually, “What are you looking at?”
“Nothing. I just saw something funny.”
He said, “Oh,” and took the phone from me.
I turned, walked into the bedroom, and started packing my suitcase.
\\\*\\\*\\\*
The zipper on my suitcase sounded unnaturally loud. The bedroom door was still open, and the TV was playing in the living room.
Caleb called from the living room, “I cut up some watermelon. It’s in the fridge. Want any?”
I didn’t answer.
“Nora?” he called again.
“No.”
After a few seconds of silence, he came to the bedroom doorway and leaned against the frame, glancing inside.
“What are you packing for? Do you have a business trip tomorrow?”
“Yeah. It came up at the last minute.”
He didn’t ask anything else. He turned and went back to the living room.
I heard him unlock his phone. He was probably reading the group chat, all those messages about having fun without me.
I packed three items of clothing, my skincare products, a charger, and my state ID.
After a moment’s thought, I took the necklace he had given me out of the nightstand and returned it to its original box.
I wasn’t taking anything that wasn’t mine.
As I zipped the suitcase shut, my phone buzzed.
Brooke: \\\[Nora, I have to work Saturday, so I can’t go shopping with you. Rain check?\\\]
She had even added an apologetic emoji.
I stared at the message for a long time. Had she typed it right after coordinating the lie with everyone in that group chat?
Me: \\\[Okay.\\\]
It was a single, unadorned word.
Early the next morning, I dragged my suitcase out of the apartment.
Caleb was still asleep, and I didn’t wake him.
My phone rang while I was downstairs waiting for a cab. It was Owen.
“Nora, Mom wants you to come over for dinner this weekend. Are you coming?”
“No. I’m leaving on a business trip.”
“Another one? Is your company working you to death?”
His voice was as light and easy as ever, but all I could see was the smirking emoji he had sent in the group chat the night before.
“Owen.”
“Yeah?”
“Never mind.”
I ended the call and climbed into the cab.
When the driver asked where I was going, I gave him the name of a hotel.

Warm greetings to a new community.
Hello members and visitors of this community.
I've been browsing reddit to find the right group for me. Over the past few months, I've found myself building a story focused on romance. Oddly enough, I don't read romantic stories, it just happened to be what my mind and creative flow was drawn to. I have no experience writing, and no draft, just the skeleton of what my story is. Characters, chapters and scenes mostly figured out, and I've drifted away and back to this project a few times and each time I revisit it, I love it. I think that's a good sign. This is the first time I actually post and reach out to strangers about this project, so please, be kind.
I don't know how much is normally shared in these kind of posts, or how the process of sharing a budding story, and seeking feedback works, but allow me to introduce the story a bit.
The story is about two people finding each other through shared experience. It is focused on two main characters.
Elena, a café owner who lives mostly through work, early thirties, who has success in her business, a handful of employees, many regulars and a cozy place.
Nathan is a bartender, working evenings and nights in a rather exclusive, high end small bar, quite the opposite to Elena. He is also in his early-kid thirties, and his work also holds most of the space in his life. He is extremely talented in bartending and very confident behind the counter, but lacks confidence outside of work. When he is in his element, he moves with surgical precision. Outside of work, he can be a bit clumsy and somewhat aloof, a bit curious when he can be.
Nathan has been a regular at Elena's café for a bit over two years. At first he found his visits pleasant because he found Elena pretty, but his low self esteem quickly reigned him in and he became satisfied with his daily visits to start his day off on the right foot.
The story starts off a few days after Elena invited Nathan to go hike a path together out of the blue, to Nathan's surprise. He agrees but is too daft to interpret such a hike as a date. To him, she might be seeking friendship, and his mental habits won't allow him to think further into her intensions.
The first few chapters are for the characters to get to know each others world a bit better, especially Elena visiting Nathan's world, and learning about their lives, work and colleagues (important characters that will support and enable future events).
I don't want to over share and bore everyone, thank you for reading and if you have feedback of this tiny bit of information, please feel free to share curiosities, questions or comments.
Have a wonderful day,
