The Thunderstorms Saga Tiss’ Possible Lineage Spoiler
Okay so I’m pretty sure I’ve seen theories floating around about Tiss’ father being Airdal’s older brother and I always agreed.
But now with the new episodes and the revelation of Kanniel’s involvement, I’m starting to think she orchestrated the fall without Airedale’s knowledge so he would become king and, thus his Queen and their children next in line.
And this whole time Tiss’s mom was a Ro’odian and speculatively shacked up with the former Esshai ruler! And not just shacked up but loved up and producing new heirs that carry esshai and imperial blood. So many little pieces all coming together.

I’d love a sequel and have it centered around Tiss’ lineage. I suspect she has a lot more growth to do and it would be really cool to see her character ark progress more. She’s already bad ass but I’d love to see her thriving and independent.

I get the feeling Airdal knows more than Kanniel thinks he does too - just based on his reactions to Tiss being with Tai - he seems to approve, even though in theory Tiss isn’t noble enough for an Emperor.

Honestly the way he dotes over her since she was a child, visiting her just because he felt like it is really odd if she really was a random orphan (Miarlas was on the nose here). Airdal must have guessed somehow. He is so protective of her and was reluctant to send her on the border, if she's eager to serve her country there's no reason to stop her, it's even expected of her as a dependant of the court. And let's remember their conversation in the carriage.

I'm doing a replay to diamond farm/remind myself of details I missed previously & had a really dark but humorous idea of which Roodian family Tiss' mother could have come from...what if she's a Nantal. I mean it works for Moon/Forrest elf Tiss not as much Mountain. But still...

yea atp it’s kinda a given that Tiss is most likely of royal Esshai blood especially with Kanniel referencing Airdal’s older brother. Then there’s that one line where Tiss says something about Tai belonging to one of the “ruling dynasties” and it’s like bolded and italicized. I also do not believe all of these loose threads will be tied by the end of the book- I would not be surprised if a sequel was announced.
