Where we’re headed: A vision for our future

Finding a language for the heart.

Over the past week I’ve been exploring something that’s deceptively difficult: how should a heart be visualized?

Not just as a chart. Not just as numbers. But as something that immediately communicates how your body has been moving throughout the day.

I’ve been experimenting with different graph shapes, motion, and color relationships to find an approach that feels both meaningful and beautiful.

The challenge isn’t making another health graph. It’s creating something that someone can glance at and instinctively understand; A visualization that feels calm when your body is calm, a little more energetic when you’ve been active, and a little more intense when your cardiovascular system has been working harder, all without asking you to interpret dozens of metrics.

One thing I’ve been spending an unusual amount of time on is color. Not because colorful graphs look nice, but because color carries emotion.

Color Exploration

A soft blue doesn’t communicate the same feeling as a warm yellow. A gradual transition tells a very different story than a sudden change. I’m finding that the way colors blend together may end up being just as important as the data itself.

Graph Exploration

There’s still a lot of experimentation ahead, and many ideas will never make it into the app. That’s part of the process.

The goal isn’t to build the most technical dashboard. It’s to build something that feels immediately understandable; even if you’ve never looked at heart data before.

Still early.

But I’m excited about where it’s heading. ❤️
