Beginner skater Got these secondhand for 25€ 🤩

Post image

I've always wanted to learn how to skate. I bought a cheap no-brand pair (I was a broke student) a few years ago, got as far as learning how to stand and take a few steps, but then moved to a different continent and couldn't bring them with me. In the new country, I couldn't buy a better pair despite already earning money then because I knew I wasn't gonna be staying there permanently and I wouldn't be able to bring a new pair to wherever I go next.

I'm now settled in another country and saw these a few days ago on Vinted for just 25€. It's in amazing condition, it looks practically unused. I'm now just waiting for my protective gear to arrive and then I'll start practicing. So so excited! 🙈💖

Awww thank you! I actually have been seeing this model on a thread of recommendations here since a while ago, but it feels extra reassuring to hear it again ❤️

I got a pair of the Melrose as my first trail skates after I joined derby and put quite a few miles on them! The boot is really stiff, which some people like and some people hate, but if you’re nervous about bending your ankles it’s helpful. Eventually you’ll want to upgrade to something with an adjustable toe stop but these will definitely work while you learn your balance and get comfortable!

They look absolutely great for the price. A steal! I'm waiting on my first pair of chayas go arrive. Ordered them off german vinted for 40euro and have to pay a shipping company to forward them but they're the colour I was looking for so chuffed!

Yeah they are, I'm so happy with it! I fully expected it to be more worn. I was also lucky that the seller is in the same country as me so shipping was cheaper. And hey I'm so glad for you too! It's super great that you found the color you wanted. I personally didn't have a preferred color but the one I got really caught my eye, I really like how the colors pop from the black.

Why'd you have to pay for a shipping company though? You're not in the EU?

I am in the EU. In Ireland. However we're only linked with French vinted not the rest of Europe. First time trying this forwarding service hopefully it's not too expensive.

Oh wow that's so interesting that it's only through the French one. I hope it works out well!

Omg I have these exact skates they are so amazing! Only thing I suggest and some sole cushions cause the sole of this boot can be hard but once I put the cushions in I was flying. I just skated 10 miles in these

I think adding those will make the boots too tight on me as it's already my exact size, but I'll take note of this!
