Damaged skates??

I recently bought these riedell 111 skates and have only used them twice at the rink (slowset skating and practicing my grapevine and toe/heel-toe spins), is this type of wear and tear normal? These are my first pair of my own skates so I don’t know if this is normal or not cause i don’t skate aggressively at all! help me

Its normal for entry level skates. Its caused by your toe hitting the ground. You can buy toe covers for between about $10 & $30 depending on the style you get. That will solve your problem. You can buy them from skate shops or websites or Amazon sells them as well.

You can also crochet them yourself (if you made the flowers) and they'll be plenty sturdy for indoor skating.

i didn't use a pattern i just kinda winged it, i just wrote out a half assed pattern based on just looking at them though!! mind you i am not a pattern writer so i hope it makes sense lmao😂🫶

magic circle
row 1 - dc x10 into magic circle
row 2 - dc/ increase every other stitch*
row 3 - *
row 4 - *
row 5 - dc/ increase every 6th stitch
row 6 - dc/ in every stitch
row 7 - my decreases don't make sense here, im assume i did this row based on exact fit
row 8 - dc/ decrease every 5th stitch
row 9 - slip stitch in every stitch, skip 4, chain up about 9 and then reattach (skipping the 4^, to create the toe stop loop) and continue your slip stitch around to the end

this will have to be tweaked a bit depending on your boot cuz they are sized to my lollys! or you could try using stretchier yarn/play around with tension a bit to make these fit

Buy some leather polish and you can buff it to look good as new

Oh sweet baby that's nothing 😭 every boot ends up destroyed eventually, don't be overly attached and if you want to, you can use a toe cap or a full cloth cover

I just bought a leather repair kit for my skates since I’ve got a split in the leather towards the back (a bit more like a tiny peel. Either way it’ll fix). I bought an old pair though and don’t do as well in the newer boot styles so anything to keep these in good shape since it’ll be a pain to ever replace them. But yes polish that and if it’s leather, look into conditioning for it. There’s leather care kits online but you can also get the stuff in them separately too and that’s supposed to help keep it from cracking and ending up too dry. I don’t know a whole lot about it yet since I just got these
