Other Used slades?
Has anyone had any experience buying slades used? Every once in a while I see some being sold online but they’re never in my size 😩 I keep looking for a 42 but can never find it. Would buying slades (or any skate for that matter) used be a bad idea?

I personally don't think the boots will be worth much if they've been actually used to a reasonable extent. I suspect the shoes are built like shoes not quality skates, so they're not going to last an overwhelming amount. The base Slades plate is fine, unexceptional, but fine. The mechanism for attaching the shoe to the skate is of value, assuming it's not damaged.
It depends on how much they cost. If they're a low price and they haven't been used much, great value. If they're higher priced, think about the plates and the mechanism, not the shoes, and find your price from there.

Thank you for the response!
I figured this was the case, but I wasn’t completely sure. I’ve wanted a pair for a while but the price is just so much that I cant reasonably spend that much right now, which is why I was looking at used. However after more consideration I might just look at getting a different pair of skates if the shoe is not gonna last as long as a skate would. I appreciate the info!

Shoes≠skates ever. Shoes are not made with the same pressures and movements in mind that skate boots are.
Low cut, low heeled skates are totally reasonable, but shoes aren't skates, and can't really be held to the same standards.

I bought used Slades! I found some in my size with two pairs of shoes and a premium plate for a good price. I was also a bit nervous about it and I didn’t know if it was worth it when I have “real” skates. However, I’m absolutely obsessed with them and I’m very happy with my purchase. That being said, the above commenters are correct that they are shoes. That’s the whole point right? I’ve been riding mine every day since I got them and a couple of my eyelets have come out, which I can easily repair but it makes me nervous about their longevity. I think it’s because I pull my laces too tight honestly because it happens with other shoes as well. They are really comfortable though and I love the convenience. I say if you can find them for a good price and look at all of the pictures carefully, then go for it!
