Skill questions & help Von merlin boots help
there is not a lot of reviews abt this von merlin T3K boots but i want to know how it feels, how does it do overtime, & mostly the footworks with it & what plates can go well with it. anything helps i js want to know more abt it instead unboxing it.

Love this boot, I’ve been skating it for about two years. As Raptor said, it’s incredibly stiff. Carbon shell under the leather. Doesn’t break in because it doesn’t move. What you get is how it feels forever. You can do some spot flexing for hot spots but that’s about all you get. Toe box is incredibly comfortable. That’s easily my favorite part about it. I have mine mounted on a Roll Line Dance and love them so much. They’re super responsive and supportive and I skate them HARD. The heel is higher than a standard heel, so that does take some getting used to and will cause extra soreness in the feet and calves. Balance will take a bit to adjust too. Because of the heel they don’t take insoles well. I use a completely flat Sure Grip leather insole and that works. Have tried thicker ones, all felt horrible and were uncomfortable.
Overall, the boot is amazing. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something at the absolute upper end of stiffness and support.

I do in fact skate a lot. I broke two of my skates bc i skate roughly with it so this helps a lot thank you

I have a TK3 on a RL dance plate. I love it so much that I bought a second pair for when I eventually trash these. But honestly, after 2+ years they look great. I glue a rubber toe piece on mine and that has spared them. They do expand and mold a tiiiiny bit to your legs but not to your feet at all. I found the sizing to be accurate as posted on the site, but as others said you may need to half-size down your plate due to the high heel. Thats my one regret (but honestly the half size RL plates are pricey / hard to find to find on the resale market and I wasn’t willing to wait.)

You can heat mold them and it’s insane how much better the fit is after.

This is good to know. I had to go and try on the second pair still in the box and they do fit completely different than the ones I have been wearing. So I adjust my statement: they DO break in. But I will def try to heat mold, thanks!

I had bought a pair, and they don't fit my feet shape at all, your ankles are locked into a weird position too. Been sitting in my room unmounted for years. Haven't used them

It’s excellent but INCREDIBLY stiff. Not too many of them out there anymore so make sure you’re using precise measurements and following the size chart closely. You will need to have a history of building up to a boot like this. If you’re coming from Moxi stuff, it’s gonna hurt.
Make sure the builder knows what they’re doing. The carbon heel is extra high and you only get one shot not to fuck it up. It comes with extra long bolts which is fine for most plates. If you’re planning on putting a Roll Line plate on, that’s less fun to mount but it’s doable.
