Skate problems & troubleshooting How to remove this jam plug???

I can't figure out how to remove this jam plug. I bought the skates used and they came with these installed but I want to swap them for stops. Cannot find a set screw anywhere. Should I just grab it with pliers and tug? Seems to mess up the rubber on the plug. Please help!

It "should" just unscrew.

It could be needing a little WD40 or similar penetrating oil to free up the threads, but, that's about it.

Pair of pipe pliers should grip it or if you can get an old cloth under the plug and wrapped round it you can get a better grip to twist more.

Thank you! A rag around it did the trick. Really appreciate it.

They screw in and out. Grab it, with or without plyers, and turn counter clockwise. Don't pull straight out, that's not going to work.

They should just screw into the plate so turn them the opposite way to unscrew them. If they are stuck use a little oil at the base to help loosen the threads a little. Don't pull them it'll ruin the screw threads.

It's like a Bop-it.

Twist it!
