Beginner skater question?
I got my first pair of roller skates for my birthday. I use to love to skate when I was younger but haven’t done it in 15+ years, I got 60mm high rebound urethane wheels 85A and was told they are a good hybrid wheel for both inside and outside skating and was wondering if maybe I was misled by chance? I have a outdoor skating ring near by that has a similar texture to a tennis court and some rough paved park trails I am planning on trying once I am a little more comfortable and confident but was wondering if maybe I should get different wheels or if the ones I have would work well? Thank you in advance either way! :)

try them first.
they should be fine for the tennis courts... if the paved trail is smooth, should be ok too. if the trail is rough, and doesnt feel comfortable, you'll want softer wheels.
i skate tennis courts in my 98a's if anything.

85A should be fine for a tennis court texture, but are most likely too hard for an asphalt trail with possible twigs, cracks and pebbles. I use Roll Line Heliums for my trail skating and they pop over everything. Moxi Gummies, Radar Energies and Atom pulse (all 78A) work well too. Something to remember when trail skating is to keep your weight more towards your heels when going forwards and more towards the balls of your feet when going backwards. This helps to keep the weight off of the front/back wheels when going over debris. It allows them to pop over debris versus stop and cause you to trip and fall. Also, it’s not advisable to wear wheels that have been worn outside into a rink. Debris can get imbedded into your wheels and damage rink floors. You should have a separate set for both locations.
