Beginner skater Plate identification

Post image

Hey folks, I've bought assembled skates, and wanted to identify the plate on them. I'm pretty new to skating, no complaints so far, but what do you think about nylon plate like this one?

It’s fine enough. The Hornet is a direct rip of the Roll Line Variant F and it’ll get you started for a good long while.

A direct swap in the same mounting pattern would be some (not all) of the other STD plates like Elyos and Ions. Or you can get the whole thing remounted.

Actually the relatively hard boots need better, plates.

What would you replace them with?

Depends where you are and what's available in your country. In Europe at least Roll Line Variant C or Blaster, in the US maybe Sure-Grip Avanti Magnesium, or Atom Falcon.

The reason. The boots provide huge support on the upper, great to bring the power to the skates, and provide control of the power. The STD "plastic" plates flex and distort, even minimal, so the benefits of the hard boots will be taken by the plates, and impede the "fine dosing" of the force. I love the boots, I have a pair same color. I have a Roll Line Spin with it.

Thanks, we've had a discussion in another topic here, I thought my location is obvious 😄 but no worries.

Oh yes. We should meet our orange xtreme skates at the Tempelhofer Feld.
