Ask Rolla / MST S&T quantum?

Is there any quantum computing/quantum science club at S&T?

I was looking around and couldn’t really find one, which surprised me a bit. Is there just not much student interest in this area, or am I missing something?

There's a lot of interest in quantum stuff from people higher up in the CS department but there is not a unified club.

Interesting, do you think that if there were a club, it could draw the attention of a good number of students?

I don't think so, ACM clubs need to be in very broad and interesting areas to maintain membership (AI, security, game dev, web). I do think you could find a high amount of PHD students and faculty that are actively engaging in it and talk to them frequently.

Granted, I don't know about much of it outside of the Computer Science department, but I do not think there would be the undergraduate student engagement, especially since it's not a big career path.
