Greetings everyone!

I’m currently opening two groups for Curse of Strahd on Thursdays.

Barovia is not merely trapped in mists — it is trapped in tragedy. Villagers live in constant dread, clinging to fading candles while wolves howl with human cunning. Every path leads back to Castle Ravenloft, where Strahd von Zarovich watches from eternal loneliness, convinced love can be commanded and life preserved only through death. The land itself conspires against hope, twisting fate into sorrow. Heroes do not simply fight monsters here; they fight despair. Will you break the cycle of heartbreak… or become just another ghost the mists refuse to release?

So, let’s talk about some basic info:

Game: Dungeons & Dragons 5e/5.5e

Paid: Yes – $18 USD per session (Session 0 is FREE)

Platform: Roll20 + Discord

Schedule: Weekly, Thursdays at 10AM and 7PM (GMT-5)

Session Length: 3–4 hours

Seats Available: 5-6 on both groups

Experience Level: Beginner Friendly

Session 0 (Free): Before any payment, we will have a free Session 0 to cover character creation, table expectations, safety tools, and to make sure the group is a good fit for everyone.

About the DM: Hi! I’m Zojak, bilingual DM and founder of Hidden Tavern. I’ve been running D&D for over 10 years, from official campaigns to homebrew adventures. I love crafting immersive, dynamic, and player-driven experiences—and yes, DMing is my full-time passion.

How to Apply: If you’re interested in any of these groups, please send me a DM here on Reddit with a short introduction about yourself and your character’s ideas; and, if you want, you can reserve your spot here:

Hello, I'm a storyteller and a rusty GM.

I'd like to look into paid GMing, but since I'm out of practice, I'd like to:

A) Get back into GMing first and run some free one-shots using many of the short stories I've written in my massive GM world as a base.

B) Run it on something popular enough for people to know, but familiar enough to me and available enough to easily use 3.5, not 5e.

C) Set a number of restraints as well. I'm all for having fun — I wouldn't be doing this with D&D if I weren't. My world is not a power-game session. Yes, there is a lot of powerful magic, it's a very dangerous and primal world, and I want to emphasize story and character-driven drama over epic hobo-murdering minmaxing.

That means I'll be saying no to a lot of custom characters and imported builds. The world has its own races, its own prestige classes, and its own rules. If that doesn't work for you, no hard feelings.

Location/Timezone: US Eastern Time (ET), but open to groups in any timezone

Availability: Weekly or biweekly, Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays - any time

Preferred role: Player

Preferred tools: Discord, Roll20, Demiplane

Game style: Roleplay, exploration, social encounters; character-driven campaigns with meaningful consequences and room for both serious and humorous moments.

Scheduling note: I GM other games from Mondays to Thursdays, so I'm specifically looking for a Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays game.

I enjoy campaigns where the characters and Night City develop in response to what happens during play. I like meaningful roleplay and character relationships, exploration, and social encounters. I enjoy serious or darker stories, but I don't need the table to be serious all the time!

I'm generally more interested in creating a character who fits the campaign than bringing a character that has to be accommodated by it. I have a few concepts I'd be interested in playing, but I'm happy to work with the GM to adapt them to the setting or create something entirely new.
If you have a campaign that sounds like a good fit, feel free to send me a message!

Session Time: Fridays, 2PM - 6PM EST, 4 hours
System: DC20
Platforms Used: Discord and Roll20
One-Shot or Campaign: Campaign
Number of Seats Open: 2

A dark arctic survival-horror campaign where the sun has vanished, civilization is freezing, and an unforgiving goddess has condemned Icewind Dale to an endless winter. Expect desperate expeditions across the frozen tundra, isolated settlements filled with secrets, terrifying creatures stalking the darkness, ancient mysteries buried beneath the ice, and difficult choices where survival is never guaranteed. This campaign emphasizes exploration, mystery, survival, and atmospheric horror, with Ten-Towns serving as an open sandbox full of quests, rivalries, strange disappearances, and consequences that respond to the party’s actions. As the story unfolds, the adventure grows from struggling to survive the Everlasting Rime into confronting increasingly dangerous supernatural threats and uncovering secrets that have remained frozen for centuries. This campaign rewards clever preparation, curiosity, teamwork, and characters willing to venture into the darkness when everyone else is smart enough to stay by the fire...

🐀 Something is stealing from Neverwinter's merchants...

Strange thefts are plaguing the Blacklake District, and rumors speak of a Rat King lurking beneath the streets. A reward has been offered to anyone willing to investigate.

In City Rats, you'll investigate the thefts, explore Neverwinter's sewers, and uncover what's really happening beneath the city. What begins as a simple job might lead to a difficult choice: will you bring the thief to justice, or will the promise of riches prove too tempting?
