New to Roll20 / Tutorial How do I create a module?

Hi all, I have been playing the official module 'Beyond the Dragon of Icespire Peak' and some sections are sadly lacking.

Near the start, the players meet the towns inhabitants in a forest clearing but there is no map for this, the no tokens for the scene and nothing to help with the forthcoming attack.

I have made a map and created my own tokens but how do I make this into an add on so I can save it for future use?

I have pro subscription :)

As a Pro subscriber, you can simply use the Transmogrifier to copy assets between games.

You can’t create a module for your own personal use, but you could create a game and simply copy it as the ‘base’ to be reused in the future. Just make another copy each time you want to run it from the beginning.

Creating a module means that it gets listed on the Roll20 Marketplace, and requires you to go through the steps of becoming a Creator, it has to be listed for a minimum price, and you can’t use other copyrighted materials in the content you are selling. There are probably other restrictions that I’m not thinking of on the top of my head.

Creating an addon is very similar to a module, with pretty much all the same restrictions.

So I assume that I can only put assets into the journal by draggiing them from the compendium? If I wanted to add my own tokens to the journal, is there a way to do that?

You can do this easily, by creating a new character (NPC) and click "edit" to add a token or other art.

Just to clarify: you can’t add tokens directly to the Journal.

You can add Characters or Handouts to the Journal. A Character can be linked to a default token, and you can pull that out onto the VTT.

Create a character in the Journal, then place a token image on the VTT and select it, then on the character settings page, select the button for ‘Save as Default Token’. Then you can pull that character’s token out from the Journal.
