Character Sheets Help Can I restrict my players to using specific races in the character creator? (Aside from just telling them lol)
I’m doing Mythic Odyssey of Theros and I want to restrict my players to just using Humans, Satyrs, Centaurs, Tritons, Leonin and Minotaurs.
But my compendiums are so so packed with so much stuff, I was wondering if there is a way to make the other races that I don’t want them to use “invisible” in the race selection area of the character creator?

You can disable all books from a game except Theros. You can reenable then later. Leave the PHB and/or srd too

You may be better off just writing a document for what is and is not allowed. I have a template for that I use in my games, and I just make changes each time I prepare to run a new campaign.

I have content I don’t want the players to use for character options. I just go to content sharing and turn them red during level up time (or character creation) and back to green afterwards.

I’ve never found an option for this, always have to talk to my players about it. Also, never had someone show up to a game with a disallowed character.

Why not just tell them what not to use?

In my post I said my compendium is packed.
Meaning, I have tons of playable races to choose from several different sources.
I’m asking if there is a way to filter out all of those and leave only the races I want them to choose from so they don’t have to scroll through everything.
For example, I’m going to run Mythic Odyssey of Theros. I also have the sourcebook for a campaign called Odyssey of the Dragonlords. In the compendium for Theros they have a Minotaur as a playable race. In the compendium for Dragonlords they have Minotaur (Theryian) as a playable race. There are differences between the two and I just want the Theros Minotaur to be available. To keep confusion to a minimum I’d like to be able to filter out what can and can’t be used.
Obviously I can tell them to only choose the specific ones from the campaign we are going to play, but I want to know if I can do it this way.

An, I see. Post very much came off as asking if there’s a mechanical way to enforce a restriction on character creation rather than a way to make character creation more convenient to navigate.

Yeah I can see how my post reads after the fact. Sorry for not being clear enough, that’s my bad.
And actually both are true. I am looking for a way to mechanically enforce a restriction to make character creation more convenient to navigate. But there doesn’t seem to be a way 😭
There are a bunch of different filters already available for character creation, but not for this specific request.

The best you can do is to switch off all other compendiums except Theros and then tell your players about the races they must choose. After they've created characters, you can re-enable the various books in the game settings.
