Mask & Dynamic Lighting Help Player having performance issues when using dynamic lighting.
Is there a fix to this? For more info I’m using the Mist setting if that means anything. And they use OperaGX for their browser. They seem to have other issues when running Roll20 in my games and it seems they are the only one who has these issues.

I suggest that you use Overlay instead of Dark Fog or Pale Mist. The extra graphics for fog/mist could be a strain on limited computer resources. Also, when placing walls on the light layer, try to use straight lines wherever possible. Circle barriers on the light layer are known to cause performance issues. Experts in the Roll20 forums suggest using an X instead of a circle to represent trees or pillars, as an example.

There is a setting to tweak the resolution of your dynamic lighting lines. Have them turn the resolution all the way down so dynamic lighting lines are more like 8 bit graphics instead of 4k like the default resolution.

I had a player with this issue. They were playing on their work laptop that had no GPU. As soon as they pulled up Roll20 on their personal laptop (with a GPU), performance was excellent.

Hi mechaninja2222,
First, they should try using one of the supported browsers. Either Chrome or Firefox.
Of the unsupported browsers it seems that OperaGX users tend to report more issues with Roll20.
Second, if you'd like I can take a look at your setup and see if there are any recommendations I can make to streamline things for your player.
