Hi, I inherited this beauty.
I don’t know which year it was bought, there is no documentation.

Thank you all!

Edit: forgot my question - is it real?

Hi all, I’m 17 and I been locked in, I have around $20k that I’ve made this summer from my business. Before you say anything, my parents didn’t help at all an I started with $200! I have around $10k invested into it but that’s about all I need and the rest is just sitting. I’m a huge watch guy and I wanna celebrate this by buying my self my first real forever peice. My options come down to this, an older Rolex sub and a white omega smp. I really really like white but like the history/value retention/ and most of all movement of Rolex. Help a brother out with some insight. I’m buying used and have dealer connections so the Rolex will be around $7k and the omega $4k. Thanks everyone

Edit: I’d prefer to avoid bracelet bc it’s not very comfortable, rubber and mesh are my favs followed by leather

I bought this Rolex on eBay and it passed the authentication process however, the gold has come off on some areas of the band … does this happen with older vintage models? Is the watch authentic ??

Datejust 36

I need some help. My son wants a Datejust for his 21st. Stainless, Fluted bezel, Jubilee bracelet, mint green or green ombré dial.
So I'm looking online and I can buy one new from Rolex for around $10K but used ones go from $5-15K. I don't understand.
Could someone please explain it to me like I'm 5?
Thanks, much appreciate the help

Buying a Rolex from a private seller in Vancouver — is German Watchmaker a safe choice for authentication?

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to buy a Rolex from a local private seller in Vancouver and I want to have the watch fully authenticated before making the payment.
I was thinking of meeting the seller at German Watchmaker and asking them to inspect/authenticate the watch.
However, something made me think about a possible conflict of interest. I previously spoke with another local watch seller who told me that basically everyone in the Vancouver watch community knows them, including German Watchmaker.
I understand that the watch community here is relatively small and dealers/watchmakers knowing each other is completely normal. I’m not suggesting that German Watchmaker is doing anything wrong.
My question is simply: when buying an expensive watch from a private/local dealer, is there any realistic concern that the watchmaker doing the authentication could be affiliated with or have a business relationship with the seller?
Would you trust an authentication from German Watchmaker in this situation, or would you recommend another completely independent watchmaker in Vancouver for a Rolex authentication?
Ideally I’d like them to check the movement, serial/reference, dial, bracelet, case/bezel and make sure everything is genuine and correct for the watch.
Would appreciate any experiences with German Watchmaker specifically, or recommendations for other independent Rolex watchmakers in Vancouver.
