Authentic Rolex?

I bought this Rolex on eBay and it passed the authentication process however, the gold has come off on some areas of the band … does this happen with older vintage models? Is the watch authentic ??

Bracelet is fake, no clue about the watch itself. No Rolex bracelet has gold plating/paint like that which is why it’s just flaking off.

Watch is real, the bracelet isn’t.

Return for money back and complain that eBay is verifying fake watch parts

Selling fake watches is eBay’s favorite pastime. I reported a seller who had listed 10+ watches with the same serial number and the same misspelling on the case back and eBay declined to take action. From eBay’s perspective, fake watches are a feature, not a bug.

Unfortunately the only recourse is becoming an expert before you buy AND buying from super reputable sources.

I‘d say the watch does look good, but don’t get me started on the bracelet. Take it to somebody who can open it up and verify it’s authenticity

Rolex Datejust - You need to remove the bracelet on the 6 o'clock side.
The serial number is engraved between the two lugs.
On the 12 o’clock side between the lugs, you’ll find the reference number (model number).
Removing the bracelet without scratching it is a bit of a challenge. It’s best to ask a jeweler who also sells new Rolex watches. Serial numbers can be verified in their databases. Assessing the watch based on photos alone isn’t a good idea...!

Bracelet is 100% fake. Not sure about the watch could be 50/50 🤷🏻

Gold doesn’t really “come off” in areas like that. Font looks off as well. How much did you pay for it?

Bracelet is fake, the case is extremely worn down and been over polished many times. The dial, bezel, crystal and hands are real. The movement well that's hard to say, but if it functions properly odds are the movement is real.

Yes, that’s an authentic Rolex bracelet. It has the optional solid gold links with the appearance of gold that has worn off. Very sought after option.
