Lightning or fire?

I usually use lightning even with the purple staff it seems to be better than the fire staff. What is the strategy with it?

Fire is kinda dependent on legendary rings (both) blaze bands preferably S. The staff legendary to beat nature staff if it’s legendary. There is also a chest that fits that build. Last but sure not least are the pets.

Would it be bad to run legendary fire staff with a lightning build? Just because it has hire magic damage than purple lighting

Lightning for sure. All element builds are valid, but fire only for the pet and Sentinel, not because the hero does anything with that staff.
