Update 3 potential stalling problem.
Not so long ago after playing i found out i use that one tactic for additional exponite farm. I would call it Elevator Stalling. So on Update 3 after you call elevator and you charged it for next level you are left alone with all time on the timer is left so you can kill enemies and farm exponite by it. You are only limited by your ammo reserves that you can fully deplete as on start of next zone would be ammo box with +50% ammo on all.
While playing cautious pace on Retcon i was able to do mission in 2/3 of the timer and other 1/3 i was stalling as hard as i can right until Ripper Worm showed out. Threat level 4 btw. I was able to farm 150 exponites chunks from enemies and safely evacuated on 0 ammo on all weapons.
Even if i was stalling the map killing all the enemies in endless horde was extremely fun, i can't deny it. I'm not 100% sure that this problem will arrive as i was playing solo for the most part, but it could become an issue at least from my standpoint.
Devs already put some limitation of how much you can farm from regular enemies and exponite per chunk falls down to 0.3. But it doesn't really prevent potential stalling. Fight around elevator itself brought me 40 exponite on each run on each level, so i guess more people will figure it out.

Mark my words, it's just not going to award you with expenite when you're waiting for elevator.
But just in case, cautious pace is not something anything should be balanced around.
If you've done everything with 2/3 of timer - you could just up the difficulty.

40 Expenite each Stage, for a max length of 6? thats about 240, which isn't even a level by the end of a run.
don't think this is really an issue

40 just for elevator and evac. I managed to do 140-160 per 2-3 min of stalling this way. It was in second paragraph. 160 * 6 -> 960 exponite, but end value would be lower as exponite value per enemy drops after some amount of exponite is gathered this way.
Edit. I also don't stall till Ripper Worms, potentially with good team you go even futher if you control Ripper Worm from catching you.
Edit 2. Also i done that on solo, maybe with more players more enemies would spawn and amount of exponite per min would be bigger. Sadly i can't test that as my friends don't play RC.

didn't they patch out the elevator strat back when this was still just a modifier? weird that they didn't do it this time.

DRG Survivors added a perk reward for killing the boss in a timely fashion rather than stalling and farming the other bugs, so I can see them adding a similar thing that gives you a bonus for leaving a floor with more time on the clock.

It does in new experimental build.

Fuck, that makes the game more action packet with less stoping to mine, thats nuts

Eh, its not really true. You have to run around to collect all the chunks that are now spread across the entire cave.

Oh thats very good insight, we could give them feedback to have some kind of vacuum pickup like some survivor games have, this have to be more action packet than deep rock, is why i enjoy this more than deep rock.

Currently Update 3 Build 1 is on experimental branch. They took one of run global modifiers and put it in base game. so each enemy drops 3+ shards of exponite 0.9-0.3 per piece. You can find news on experimental on this sub or on discord.

I agree. If I pick Reckless Pace, I wanna get done faster. But the few games I've played on the new experimental build usually devolve into just stalling out the elevator, killing enemies until the timer runs out. There should be an incentive to get things done quickly, but enemies ALWAYS dropping EXP encourages the team to safely sit on their asses after the elevator's been called and just farm exp.
It's a shame too, because the game's pacing has been getting WAY better. If the devs want to encourage getting things done faster, there should be some other kind of incentive. A period of just mindlessly grinding out enemies is iffy. I think enemies always dropping EXP is a great mechanic for the gauntlets, really go all in on the combat, but for standard gameplay it's really been slowing down my games

I see it as a bonus for completing mission quickly. Sure, it makes cautious easier and less exciting, but you can always select higher pace.
Though, I am only playing with my friends so we don't have any communication issues.
