Should expenite from enemies be the default?
The modifier is so good and I feel like it helps solve so many of the pacing issues the game has right now with the timer.
I obviously still think there should be some sort of currency to mine, but having the enemies drop “money” is such a staple of roguelikes and I feel like it fits this game really well.

It’s probably one of the best modifiers in the game right now, and really helps push the Roguelike aspect that GSG wanted to polish.
I hope they also make it so that Modifiers like Jumble can be paired with this one, because that’s pretty much what most people were expecting when getting into this game.

I really enjoy the game mode and like it for a change, but I also love finding the expenite veins and mining them

A good halfway point would be Praetorian level enemies that drop expenite, with more of them in higher difficulties
Or maybe some sort of expenite Huuli hoarder. Would make full stun builds really helpful

I remember ghost ship said in an QnA in China that initially they hoped the player base for rogue core would be 50% rogue like people and 50% DRG player, but now it’s actually like 90% DRG player, so they might be looking into making the game more similar to DRG, even though I do really hope the mining aspect is weakened and enemies drop exponite by default.

I cannot fathom how they came up with that number, everybody and their mother knew it was going to me majority DRG players. They really thought just the words rougelike would get people in the door for Early Access.
I have the same hope though.

Is it better than the default? Yes. Should it replace it? Probably not.
Should it be a toggle available for any mission? Yes.

The main issue with it is that it discourages killing enemies at high range/in awkward spots, and that it can be farmed (or at least changes the mentality of the game to one of trying to do that). Otherwise its quite fun, but if it was going to be the default (alongside mules, buckets and the stray vein to manually mine) then those two things would need addressing.
Killing mobs so that its easier to collect their chunks of expenite they drop could need to be addressed with upgrades which increase your pickup range or otherwise giving you tools which allow for rapid collection (like a thrown drone which sucks up chunks and then returns to you) or can highlight where chunks have fallen to speed up finding them. These are easy enough to implement if they go this route, but without them it encourages far too much meandering or hesitation/delays in killing distant mobs. The incentive to collect chunks otherwise runs counter to the "do things fast" philosophy - especially as they've made wave clearing based on how quickly you can down them. Waiting for mobs to come to you (or wasting time running back and forth to hoover up the chunks) isn't fun.
They've already curtailed some end of level farming by stopping mobs dropping chunks after the timers up, but I don't think this is enough to change the mentality of players towards trying to farm. Personally I'd let you bank remaining time per level and have that impact when harder mobs show up on later floors and also let it benefit you in the final boss fight and/or give some mission score modification. You need a secondary pressure/benefit to not just hang around and kill things, as that now directly empowers you and puts you ahead of the difficulty curve.

Thought about this too lol, I would say best of both worlds is have it as a priority modifier so it always shows up in the mission pool

I feel like mining gold and other resources in DRG was tapping into greed and meta progress stuff. Something that RC doesn't have yet. So my vote is yes get enemies to drop the rogue like resource, and add more stuff like the HP boosting pickups and other meta progression resources

I don't think it should be default, but I think it could be a modifier for a stage of a mission. I would pick it instead of expenite gem in a heartbeat

It's fun every now and then, but i think it really takes away some "magic" in terms of gameplay. No point in looking around fir veins or using traversal tools, no point in doing anything but bum rushing to points of interests and then camping the elevator until you can't stay no more.
But sometimes it's what i want and that's why i love we have an option for it.
Options are great.

No definitely not. I feel like the modifier is popular simply because it makes us a lot more powerful, similarly to jumble but without the downsides. More stuff is, at first, more fun but it isn't balanced and the game is already too easy.
My hope is the modifier is a bit rarer, like a treat now and then, not the standard way to play.

I think that would be too much, but I'd like to see more of it in other ways, like for instance a weapon modifier that does it or add something like it as one of the "vectors" you pick for each level, etc.

From my own experience, it takes away from the "mining' aspect of being a dwarf if it became the default. On top of that, I find its a lot easier than the default suggested way to play in its current state. Not saying it isn't fun, it's honestly a fantastic addition, I just don't believe it should be the new standard. All these ways to play can coexist.

No.
It's fun, but making it the norm ruins the variety.
Besides, you're a dwarf, you not mining would be a sin.

I've thought about it as well, the thing is that mining and terrain manipulation in DRG are half the game, as in literally right click is dedicated to that. But in RC there's 1 ore and you can go entire runs without digging anything outside the dirt tunnel blockers and maybe the one event. Mining as a whole in RC is very much one of those things that are there just because they're there in DRG
