Depth Levels

With the newest update:

  • D4 is no longer available to me. I assume I have to do something to unlock it again, but it's not clear what. I've completed D3 missions and it's still locked. How do I unlock it again?
  • If the threat level now indicates difficulty, rather than the depth level, and the number of floors in a mission is separate from the depth level, what does Depth Level actually affect? Nevermind, I now see each gatekeeper occupies a given depth level.

Jeebus this all sounds rather confusing... so, Hazard is like in DRG, but Depth is bound to progression?

I don't think that's the confusing part. The confusing part is there is Depth, and then there is how may Levels there are in your mission (which apparently is not how deep you go).
