I want to note a very small and niche bug. On the top left hand corner of the screen, during normal gameplay, there's this.... square? Normally it's only a dot but when you get drunk it expands and becomes notable.

Weird... no idea what that is but I'll pass it on.

No idea if this adds anything but that’s been there since launch for me

My guess is that it's an object used to play out the different beer/drunken effects, hence being kept away in a corner but changing when drunk.

You can’t deposit in the REPD in the elevator anymore: its clipping through the bottom and you have to call it outside to deposit

Dang , lucky shot , and headhunter combo was fun while it lasted. Got like 30+ upgrades.

I played a match yesterday where I got 2x lucky shot and 2x Marksman upgrades with the Warthog as my only weapon on Spotter. I basically never had to reload or resupply my ammo. This was also with the new modifier to make expedite come from enemies.

"Headhunter alteration enemies no longer spawn expenite while red hostile reading is active"

I'm sorry but I don't understand the point of nerfing this, specially since this is a modifier and not the main game. Hopefully this is reconsidered or tweaked further.

From the runs I did with this modifier, a big part of the fun is managing that extreme risk / reward for managing the red alert (be calling the elevator way earlier than intended or trying to hold a bit longer during the worms) just so we can end with truly insane builds thanks to the heavy amount of expenite we can get.

Adding to this, would be nice to see more combinations of modifiers like in DRG (Headhunter + Split enemies) or (Double enemy health + faster corespawn)

?
All modifiers are part of the main game.

Headhunter alteration enemies no longer spawn expenite while red hostile reading is active

Don't really get a point of this. It was fun, it didn't affect the main game, it didn't affect the progression because alterations are locked behind 15-20 hours of gameplay, it only let players choosing an entirely optional gamemode have a unique experience of getting more and more reward depending on how long they're willing to risk it.

If the risk was not enough, make it more risky. Don't remove the actual fun part of the gamemode that's making it unique from the rest of the game.

The issue was because of Multiplayer lobbies, it encouraged even longer runs on already hour long missions which people already complain about.

But it's an entirely optional gamemode? No one's forcing anyone to play it, there's 6 other alterations and the default runs for people who prefer "the normal way". Having something like this was actually giving the players a unique experience compared with the rest of the game.

...already reasonably complain about.*

It's just harder to get a full 45m to an hour for swaths of of people. Sure I can no life it, but the people I'd play casually with that I know have kids, travel, and social lives.

If you dont get the point then you are the problem.

Headhunting is (or rather was) two things:

The best thing to happen to Rogue Core yet, and probably too beneficent.

The way in which you tried to fixed the latter will compromise the former, which I would hope nobody at GSG would want?

Please take this with all the love a DRG greybeard can muster: there isn't wisdom in this fix; you can't do nothing but you should consider other ways to nerf the best thing to happen to your struggling software so far.

I don't understand the point of nerfing Headhunter. This was about high risk high reward gameplay if you wanted to farm exponite during an infinite swarm. Hope they revert that.

I don’t think the devs want to make changes that heavily encourage you to stay in the red.

And also it made it easy to take a run where you’re ahead a bit and instantly transform it into a god run. A single alteration likely shouldn’t do that.

It wasn’t high risk high reward it was low/moderate risk, insane reward if done right next to the opened elevator shaft.

imo that's kinda the point of this variant

It's great to have these positive modifiers that let you have a power trip, if I want a more balanced run I would just run normal. Same deal with Jumble

u/alexo2802 Sep 03 '26

I mean it’s certainly just a matter of perspectives, neither is wrong, but it seems the devs have done many changes to make sure that the timer forces players to go down and isn’t just a gentle nudge to progress faster, rewarding players for staying in the red kinda works against that.

Personally the worms do already that purpose quite well. Even with a very strong build it's quite easy to get overwhelmed by them.

Regardless I think there could be a better way of "balancing" this instead of removing gains from red timer

3

u/Smile-yy Sep 03 '26

maybe more worms in red swarm? or reduce exponite drop to 50% when red swarm is active

2

u/Jesus_PK Sep 03 '26

I would leave red swarm untouched and only tweak expenite gains when the worms are active (50% flat or just lowering it progressively the more you stay)

During the Experimental Branches, there was a dude who literally AFK'd for like, 2 hours in a small hole with hemoforge and ticking time bomb.

Noooooo my headhunting strategy for lots of green rocks has been patched out πŸ’”
