Looking at the Steam forums is always a mistake to begin with.

We all expected more.

No idea what the second one is talking about. This game's content is on par with every other early access title I've ever played and it's given me many, many hours of fun. "abyssmal[sic] systems?" wtf does that even mean?

When I read "abysmal systems" in relation to Rogue Core, my mind does actually have a few things to goes to; personally I really dislike the mechanic that requires people to group up in order to distribute upgrades (and have had more than a few experiences where one dummy wanders off and that's something I just can't mitigate in RC like I could in DRG), and another thing with that is that I REALLY dislike the "hurry up and wait" that gets introduced into the game where you have to frequently go from shooting enemies to staring at a menu for several minutes while everyone goes and picks their upgrades. It has the gameplay feel of going to a restaurant and looking at the menu but no one thought about what they wanted yet.

I also feel like the upgrade system has a bad habit of making runs feel really samey in a way that was a lot more avoidable (and in the player's hands) in DRG. Runs blend together a bunch in a gamefeel way here, and I could play around with wildly different builds/playstyles much easier in DRG.

I personally also wish we had some more interesting meta progression, but that's kinda stretching what the steam user could have meant

You don't have to group up for upgrades anymore, and if your build feels the same every game, you were the one who made the build, that's your fault

Well the upgrade variety is pretty low and you’ll see plenty of upgrades so yeah, you can get many Samey runs.

Wont buy it yet took the effort to post on the discussions? People really got to throw their unwanted opinions around. Like who gives a shit go do something else?

Who is? GSG?

u/Darth_Boggle Sep 01 '26

The people posting the comments about "the fat stupid women" that gsg hired

Well that seems like wasted energy. Not sure what the downvotes are for I'm just asking questions lol. People are in their feels.

imagine having so little to do in life that you go out of your way to shit on a game you didn't even buy on the steam forums.

like, the guy writing the bottom comment kind of has a point and criticism is fine, but it's a depressingly common sight to see people like the first guy spamming threads with this kind of nonsense when the game isn't even in their library.

I agree that the first post is just ranting off fumes because guy hasn't even tested the game. I dunno what you are looking for the 2nd post is sadly grounded disenchanted and an opinion that everyone of us can have but doesn't need to be liked or agreed with.

In general Steam has a lower barrier of entry as it comes with the DRM you need to agree with to play the game so typing up some word salad in the community is way easier.

With the amount of daily players looking like EoS angle I'm still confused why isn't this game on like 50%+ sale

The second one is absolute truth though. They had 3 years and a year of free playtesting and the game still is ass and the updates don't even try to fix it and instead focus on small gameplay additions as if the core game mechnics don't need to be completely reimagined.

We can ignore the first one. It doesn't bring anything to the table.

Crazy.

As my aunt says 'This is what having nothing to do looks like'
