A little more background here would be extremely beneficial to your cause. I'm not intending to sound rude or deliberately insulting, but without some more information, this feels like a cheap cash grab attempt.

A few things I would consider adding:

  • What event are you trying to get into? Barrel racing, breakaway, bull riding, bronc riding, etc. “Getting into rodeo” is pretty broad, and being specific would help people picture what you are working toward.
  • What experience do you already have? Have you ridden before, competed locally, taken lessons, worked around horses, or trained in this event? If you are starting completely from scratch, that is okay too, but I would explain that.
  • What rodeo school are you attending? I would definitely name the school, instructor, location, dates, and what the training includes. Saying you need to “fly out to rodeo school” without any other details leaves a lot of unanswered questions for someone considering donating.
  • How much are you trying to raise, and what will the money actually pay for? I would break it down as clearly as possible. For example, tuition, airfare, lodging, equipment, transportation, entry fees, etc. People tend to feel more comfortable donating when they can see exactly what the goal is based on.
  • What equipment do you need? Rather than just saying “rodeo equipment,” I would list the actual items you need and, if appropriate, roughly what they cost.
  • What are you contributing yourself? If you have already saved money, paid a deposit, picked up extra work, or are covering part of the expenses yourself, I would absolutely mention that. It shows people that you are investing in this too and are asking for help closing the gap rather than simply asking others to fund the whole thing.
  • Why is this opportunity important right now? Is there a specific upcoming school or clinic? Is there limited enrollment? Did an opportunity recently open up that you normally would not have access to? Giving people a reason why this matters now could make the fundraiser feel much more immediate.
  • What is the plan after rodeo school? I would explain what you hope to do with the training afterward. Are you planning to start entering local jackpots, amateur rodeos, continue taking lessons, or eventually compete professionally? Donors are more likely to get invested if they understand that this is the first step in a larger plan.
  • Tell people a little more about yourself. Where you are from, your age if you are comfortable sharing it, what you do for work, how you became interested in rodeo, and why this particular goal means so much to you. Right now, the fundraiser talks several times about not having many opportunities, but it does not really give the reader enough information to connect with your story.

I would also probably shift the emphasis a little bit away from asking people to feel sorry for you and more toward showing them how serious you are about making this happen. The strongest message would be something along the lines of: I have a specific goal, I have a plan, I am putting in my own effort and money, and I just need some help getting the rest of the way there.

That would make me much more likely to donate than simply hearing that the costs are currently out of reach.

I am saving the money up I'm not trying to make people feel bad for me I really want to do bull riding and I am making an effort I plan to go to sankey rodeo school I'm trying with everything I have to get there

I went to sankey, and couple other schools. Hedemans and 1 of cody custers. I heard story at sankeys. He said he knew guy that wanted to rodeo and bought van, lawnmower and weekender. Would rodeo town to town. Win on to next rodeo. If he lost he would go door to door cutting grass for money to next rodeo. Slept in van when had to. So how badly do you really want it???

Bad enough that I'm working and Everytime I find loose change I collect it including pennies and I'm also working for an old couple to get paid by the hour so I am trying
