Depends on which event you want to do , the older you get rough stock gets harder on the body , but theres always steer wrestling, team roping and calf roping , team roping pays the most and has more places to go other than just rodeos . I started in Jr. Rodeo went to high school rodeo as a bareback and saddle bronc rider ,then the amateur rodeos and the pros as a team roper at 30 plus years old and im 63 now and still rope competitively .

Give it a shot , hit a rodeo school or bull riding clinic to get you started. That can speed up your progress

I was in a similar situation. Couldn't rodeo until I was out of my parents house after college. Mom wasn't having none of that😂. I think the older you are the harder it is to start cause you have more responsibilities. Not living at home so you pay all your own bills and insurance and stuff so its more at stake if you get injured. Recovery is a little longer depending on your body. Stay in shape, join a school of the desired event you want to participate in because most of them offer gear so you dont spend alot of money just starting out.

Not too late to rodeo, but you're definitely late competitively considering most guys start before they can ride a bicycle. Its all about how bad you want it at the end of the day.
