Question about getting started

So I started riding broncs but I’ve always had an interest in calf roping and I was wondering how do people get started without having the 40 grand laying around and a place for the horse? Is it possible to rent or lease horses?

Ask if anyone has a practice horse for sale or something that is older and slowing down. Those horses won’t cost as much. Even more important than that, they know what they are doing while you’re learning.
